Job description

The Vice President of Development originates, executes, supports, and leads potential de novo, joint venture, and acquisition opportunities for the purpose of growing the company's earnings and accomplishing the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the de novo and acquisition development processes.

  • Builds relationships with prospective joint venture partners.

  • Utilizes in-depth market analysis to establish development strategies for new and existing markets, in conjunction with Regional Presidents.

  • Leads the internal project approval process, including the finalization of project budgets and the preparation of approval materials.

  • Presents projects to key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Serves as a Company representative in meetings with national, regional, and local healthcare leaders and stakeholders.

  • Builds and maintains a steady and consistent pipeline of 20+ projects across multiple operating regions.

  • Manages an interdepartmental team to ensure efficient project completion.

  • Understands the Health Planning function of each state including Certificate of Need.

  • Understands key business metrics and their application to the development process.

  • Fosters relationships with internal subject matter experts and external consultants.

  • This position must sit in Birmingham, AL

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Master's in business or health administration or similar degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
