Paul Davis Restoration of NW Chicago is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to expand our referral network and strengthen our presence throughout the Chicago market.


In this role, you will build partnerships with insurance agents, adjusters, property managers, plumbers, real estate professionals, and other referral sources who assist property owners after property damage events. You will represent the Paul Davis brand in the community, develop trusted relationships, and help generate consistent opportunities for restoration and reconstruction work.


This position is ideal for a highly organized, self-motivated professional who enjoys working independently in an outside business development role. This position reports to the Owner / General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance professionals, property managers, plumbers, real estate professionals, and other referral partners
  • Conduct regular in-person visits with current and prospective partners
  • Establish long-term referral partnerships throughout the Chicago market

Business Growth

  • Identify and pursue new referral opportunities to expand market presence
  • Increase brand awareness and strengthen Paul Davis relationships within the community
  • Generate consistent job opportunities through referral partner relationships

Networking and Brand Representation

  • Represent Paul Davis at networking events, industry functions, and community activities
  • Coordinate and support Lunch & Learns, CE classes, facility tours, and client appreciation events
  • Ensure marketing materials and messaging align with Paul Davis brand standards

Sales Activity Management

  • Maintain records of contacts, visits, referrals, and follow-up activities within company CRM systems
  • Track relationship development activity and maintain an organized pipeline of opportunities
  • Provide regular reporting on business development activities and results

Market Awareness

  • Research local market opportunities and identify high-value referral partners
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activity within the Chicago market
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or relationship-based marketing in restoration, construction, insurance, property management, or home services industries
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Comfortable with in-person outreach, networking, and relationship-driven selling
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the Chicago area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with referral-based sales or partnership development
  • Experience working with insurance agents, adjusters, or property managers is strongly preferred
  • Existing professional relationships within the Chicago market are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $60,000 – $75,000, depending on experience and existing referral relationships
  • Uncapped commission tied to revenue from self-generated referral relationships
  • Target total compensation $100,000 – $150,000+ for high performers
  • Company vehicle or allowance, phone, and expense reimbursement
  • Opportunity to build and own a long-term referral book in a growing territory
