Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.
Position Summary
This position is based in Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio.
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new leads, supporting new business development and revenue activities, and driving profitable growth within the Chemicals, Power, and Data Center value chains. This role will develop and maintain strong relationships, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies and solutions that align with client needs and market opportunities.
Responsibilities
Proactively develops and maintains sustaining client relationships that foster continued business opportunities; enables TCE to have relationships with key clients at all levels in the client organization.
Develop sales and execution plans in line with the needs of the clients and industry. Creates persuasive presentations to secure new business.
As part of the Business Development team, consistently delivers results at or above sales forecasts while maintaining a strong focus on revenue growth, profitability, and overall business performance.
Collaborate with other Business Development leaders to identify cross-selling opportunities and ensure the company is well positioned to maximize opportunities across the client base.
Demonstrates knowledge of services to existing/potential clients and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
Acts as the primary contact and is responsible for responding to requests for proposals, requests for information, and other project-related documentation.
Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
Actively participates in risk assessment and mitigation strategies for major and/or lump-sum projects.
Maintains the sales forecast and opportunity tracking system on a timely basis.
Actively researches potential new clients and business opportunities; within the Chemicals, Power, and Data center value chain the organization's operational capacity and capabilities to effectively align client expectations with available resources and support development of new projects and business opportunities.
Identifies and recommends additional growth areas for the industry line. Keeps abreast of technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and promotional trends through various publications, as well as consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
Actively manages the proposal process, participating in pre-bid strategy and proposal meetings and leading the effort through contract negation and signature.
Execute business development strategies to achieve company growth and revenue goals.
Qualifications
Experience in developing and closing engineering deals with values ranging from $500K to $20M+, with some knowledge of contract costing, project management and execution logistics.
Must have current established professional network within the Mid-Atlantic region, with strong relationships across the Chemicals, Power, and Data Center value chain, including key clients, decision-makers, and industry stakeholders.
Must have proven track record of generating their own sales opportunities.
Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to build relationships, influence key stakeholders, and effectively navigate competitive and rapidly changing business environments.
Must have experience with contract negotiation and execution, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal legal and commercial teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving business environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a business-related or engineering field.
