Fortune Electrical Construction is seeking an experienced, driven, and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand our presence throughout the commercial electrical construction market. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, strengthening client relationships, and helping grow our portfolio of commercial electrical projects.
The ideal candidate has an established network within the commercial construction industry and understands the complexities of electrical contracting across multiple market sectors.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will lead efforts to generate new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, general contractors, developers, architects, engineers, and public agencies. This position plays a critical role in achieving the company's strategic growth goals.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to increase revenue and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new commercial electrical construction opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • General Contractors
    • Developers
    • Architects
    • Engineers
    • Property Owners
    • Municipalities
    • Government Agencies
    • Facility Managers
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, association meetings, and industry conferences.
  • Monitor bidding opportunities and identify projects aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams during the preconstruction process.
  • Assist with proposal development, presentations, and client interviews.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Research emerging markets and identify new opportunities for company growth.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipeline reporting, and forecasting.
  • Represent Fortune Electrical Construction professionally within the community and industry.

Requirements
Required Experience
Candidates should possess experience within one or more of the following commercial electrical construction sectors:
  • Multi-Family Residential
  • Government & Municipal Projects
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Manufacturing

  • Hospitality
  • Commercial Office Buildings
  • Private Sector Commercial Construction

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience within commercial construction or electrical contracting.
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction processes.
  • Existing relationships within the commercial construction industry are preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and close new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor.
  • Knowledge of design-build, negotiated work, and competitive bid procurement.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, or similar industry platforms.
  • Membership or involvement in industry organizations such as ABC, AGC, IFMA, BOMA, NAIOP, Chambers of Commerce, or local construction associations.
