Job Summary:
The Business Development Associate - Customer Centricity supports Bechtel's enterprise-wide customer-focused initiatives within the Corporate Business Development function. This role is primarily responsible for enabling and executing customer centricity workstreams, including the enterprise customer survey program, Customer Based Leadership (CBL) support activities, and related governance, reporting, and coordination efforts.
The position works closely with Corporate BD leadership, and Global Business Unit (GBU) BD teams to strengthen Bechtel's understanding of customer needs, improve consistency in customer engagement practices, and reinforce customer centricity as a core way of working across the enterprise.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
Customer Centricity Workstreams
  • Coordinate and execute Bechtel's enterprise customer survey program, including survey planning, distribution, tracking responses, and supporting analysis and reporting of results.
  • Support follow-up actions associated with customer survey feedback, including coordination with CBLs, GBU BD teams, and Corporate BD leadership.
  • Maintain customer centricity materials, templates, and reference content used across the enterprise.

Customer Business Leader (CBL) Support
  • Provide operational and coordination support to Customer Business Leaders, including preparation of materials, tracking of customer engagement activities, and support of customer-related initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining customer-focused documentation and summaries that support consistent engagement across GBUs.
  • Support CBL-related governance activities, including coordination of meetings, materials, and action tracking.

Reporting & Insights
  • Support development and maintenance of customer-centric metrics, dashboards, and summaries that provide insight into customer feedback, engagement trends, and enterprise priorities.
  • Assist with synthesizing customer survey results and qualitative feedback into clear, executive-ready materials.
  • Coordinate data inputs across Corporate BD and GBUs to ensure consistency and accuracy of customer-related reporting.

Cross-Functional & GBU Coordination
  • Support alignment of customer centricity practices, tools, and communications across the enterprise.
  • Assist with change management and communications efforts that reinforce customer centricity as a core Bechtel capability.

Corporate BD Support (Secondary)
  • Provide limited support to broader Corporate BD operational initiatives as needed, including meeting coordination, materials preparation, and functional programs that intersect with customer centricity.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience.
  • Associate degree or related technical training preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with business development or account management environments in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Roughly 1-2 years of experience in business development, customer engagement, operations, analytics, or a related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience preparing executive-level presentations and summaries.
