Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS) is seeking a Manager of Business Development 3 in the Air Dominance Division - Aerostructures Business Unit to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be based in Clearfield, Utah.
This demanding role will lead efforts to identify, prioritize, develop and capture composite manufacturing opportunities for the business unit across defense, space, and commercial sectors. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for collaborating with a team of business professionals, functional teams, other primes, suppliers, teammates and subcontractors to develop and implement new business pursuits, win strategies, compliant with the business acquisition processes.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Create, execute, and lead customer engagement plans; serve as point of contact for government and commercial customer organizations
  • Develop customer contact plans, translate operational needs and requirements into business opportunities, document customer activities and engagements
  • Interface with Business Unit leadership and programs to support discretionary investments, capital expenditures and long-range strategic planning
  • Identify and manage a pipeline of opportunities; assess and evaluate near-term and long-term business opportunities; align pursuit activities for optimal cost efficiency
  • Lead responses to customer Requests for Information (RFI) and support customer Requests for Proposal (RFP), including new franchise opportunities
  • Conduct market and opportunity research, analysis, trends and business case development, to include competitors, and budgets in the form of written reports and presentations

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must either have a bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 10 years composites manufacturing/Business Development work experience, OR a master's degree from an accredited university and 8 years composites manufacturing/Business Development work experience, manufacturing/Business Development work experience OR a PhD from an accredited university and 6 years composites manufacturing/Business Development work experience,
  • Extensive experience with composite materials, automated manufacturing processes across commercial and defense sectors
  • Knowledge of DoW requirements, programming, budgeting, acquisition processes, capture and pipeline management skills
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, strategic thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Ability to travel at least 50%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical background and/or pre-existing experience in composites manufacturing, business management, or supplier community
  • Experience in identifying and qualifying new opportunities, and implementing creative approaches for executing early phase program activities
  • Experience in requirements development, government procurement, business development processes, Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and Salesforce
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $151,500.00 - $227,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
