This role blends sales outreach, marketing follow-up, customer onboarding, and digital enablement to create a smooth path from first touch to first order.

We're looking for a proactive communicator who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and helping customers discover easier ways to do business with Capital Electric.

  • Qualify prospects based on customer needs, project opportunities, buying potential, and sales readiness.
  • Drive outreach through phone, email, digital channels, and marketing follow-ups to keep prospects engaged and moving forward.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Branch Operations, and Digital teams to support a smooth handoff from lead to active customer.
  • Introduce customers to Capital Electric's digital tools, including webstore access, mobile capabilities, and automated communications.
  • Use CRM activity, lead trends, and customer insights to improve outreach strategies, conversion rates, and onboarding experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to make the customer journey faster, easier, and more connected from first conversation to first order.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, marketing, business development, or another customer-facing role; distribution or construction industry experience is a plus.
  • Outgoing, energetic, and confident engaging with customers, prospects, and internal partners across many personalities and communication styles.
  • Comfortable driving outreach through phone, email, digital channels, and in-person touchpoints to keep conversations moving.
  • Clear, helpful communicator who can explain tools, services, and next steps in an approachable way.
  • Organized, curious, and tech-friendly, with the ability to manage multiple leads, learn digital tools, and keep onboarding steps on track.

Impact of the Role

The BDR helps create momentum where it matters most: turning interest into action, making the first customer experience feel easy, and helping Sales focus on growing the relationship. By connecting outreach, marketing follow-up, digital adoption, and customer onboarding, this role helps more customers discover better ways to buy from Capital Electric-and keeps the journey moving from first conversation to first order.
