Job description

Position Summary:

Redwood Materials is seeking a Business Development Account Manager to join our dynamic team and drive growth in new and existing markets.

In this role, you will be deeply involved in building strong client relationships and managing key accounts. You will leverage your expertise to understand client needs, and develop tailored solutions, that align with our strategic goals. Your ability to communicate effectively, address client concerns and work quickly to solve client needs will be crucial for the success of this role. On a daily basis, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, customer operations, product management, and accounting to ensure a seamless client experience and successful partnership execution. You will also be responsible for monitoring account performance, managing client expectations, and identifying areas for improvement or growth.

As a Business Development Account Manager, you will be expected to work independently while contributingto the enhancement of our business development processes and strategies. Your role will heavily involve nurturing existing relationships to drive long-term success for Redwood Materials.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service.
  • Strategic Planning: Identify opportunities for account growth and collaborate with BD Managers and clients to develop strategies that align with their goals.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any client concerns or issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to clients and internal stakeholders on partnership progress, performance, and key metrics.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 25% when necessary for meetings, tours etc.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or business. Technical background a plus.
  • Sales/business/technical sales experience more than 5 years. 
  • Automotive, mining, metallurgical or lithium-ion battery industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in English for global communication to lead the account management. 
  • Strong leadership skills with logical communication. 
  • People skills to develop good relationships with customers even when the situation is very tough. 
  • Smart, scrappy, entrepreneurial, science-loving, having a bias for action and a lot of grit. 
  • An ability to have fun while tackling hard problems! 
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
