Role: Business Central Developer
Location: Texas
Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 / year
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401(k).
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Central Developer to join a growing ERP team and help drive the performance, usability, and long-term evolution of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. This person will serve as the primary technical resource for application enhancements, custom development, and platform support while also partnering with internal users to improve workflows and solve day-to-day system challenges.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on ERP development with business-facing problem solving. The right candidate will be comfortable building solutions in Business Central, supporting integrations and data needs, and working directly with stakeholders to turn operational pain points into scalable system improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead technical enhancement efforts within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including custom development, feature expansion, and platform optimization
  • Build and support ERP-related integrations, data flows, and system connections across business applications
  • Create solutions that improve operational efficiency, streamline manual processes, and support evolving business requirements
  • Develop, test, and deploy code changes in a controlled environment while supporting ongoing release management activities
  • Troubleshoot system issues, investigate root causes, and implement sustainable fixes for technical and functional problems
  • Partner with business users to understand process gaps, document requirements, and translate needs into system improvements
  • Support core ERP workflows tied to purchasing, sales activity, order processing, and related operational functions
  • Provide day-to-day application support for users, including issue resolution, troubleshooting, and guidance on system functionality
  • Help improve reporting, data visibility, and system accuracy through query development and data analysis
  • Document technical changes, process updates, and user procedures to support adoption and long-term maintainability
  • Collaborate with internal teams on testing, rollout planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across the ERP environment
  • Stay current on Business Central capabilities and identify opportunities to better leverage the platform over time

Required Background
  • 4+ years of experience developing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Hands-on experience building customizations, extensions, and technical solutions within a Business Central environment
  • Proficiency with AL development, Visual Studio Code, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Experience supporting ERP integrations, release processes, and technical troubleshooting in a production environment
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows related to purchasing, sales, order management, and business process execution
  • Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into technical designs or development deliverables
  • Ability to work independently as a technical resource while also collaborating closely with functional users and leadership
  • Prior experience in a blended developer/analyst or developer/support role is strongly preferred

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose both technical and process-related issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, follow-through, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable serving as a hands-on technical point of contact for ERP-related needs
  • Ability to balance development work with functional support and user interaction
  • Experience creating documentation, user guides, or training materials is a plus
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification is a plus
  • Experience supporting inventory, rental, field operations, or asset-heavy business environments is a plus
