Job description

Park University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Information Systems and Business Analytics. This is a tenure-track position located in Parkville, MO with a start date of August 2026 (preferred) or January 2027.
Position Accountabilities
This position will be responsible for teaching predominately on campus in a face-to-face modality. Park's business analytics curriculum includes courses in information systems, data mining, data visualization, predictive analytics, and digital marketing analytics. Students work on applied projects using statistical tools, coding and data visualization software. Specific courses will depend on the candidate's areas of experience. The candidate's teaching load may also include fully online courses. Opportunities for online course development may also be available.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate or ABD relevant to the Information Systems and Business Analytics program curriculum (Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Analytics) or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited university.
  • Academic expertise or industrial experience in:
    • database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
    • data collection from multiple sources (APIs, IoT, web data, enterprise systems)
    • DevOps, data pipeline design, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of Python, R, SQL, and statistical software.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Demonstrated record or strong potential for quality scholarly activity.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industrial experience in Business Analytics or closely related fields.
  • Experience in online curriculum design.
  • Experience in online teaching using Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
  • Research record in the areas relevant to the ISBA focus
  • Industry connections in Business Analytics
