Position Summary
The Business Analyst plays a key role in driving enterprise-wide initiatives by leading requirements gathering, analyzing complex business processes, and delivering solutions that enhance efficiency and strategic outcomes. This position is ideal for individuals who have demonstrated success in a Junior Business Analyst role and are ready to take on greater responsibility, including leading small projects and mentoring Junior Business Analyst roles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Requirements Gathering: Facilitate sessions with stakeholders to define business needs and translate them into detailed non-functional, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Advanced Process Analysis: Evaluate complex workflows, identify gaps, and recommend innovative solutions for optimization and automation.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process maps, data matrices, user stories, and use cases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project sponsors, project managers, developers, and business units to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to Junior Business Analyst team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend best practices and contribute to the evolution of business analysis methodologies within the organization.
  • Timeliness: Maintain accountability for meeting deadlines and supporting timely delivery of business solutions. Coordinate requirement sessions to meet deadlines.
  • Research and Investigation: During and prior to requirements gathering research other impacted systems and departments and investigate how they will be impacted to develop complete end-to-end requirements
  • Data Analysis: During requirements gathering, review data that impacts requirements to ask detailed questions and provide data-driven suggestions.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of business analysis experience, including demonstrated success in a Junior Business Analyst role.
    • Experience with requirements gathering, process improvement, and project coordination.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Proficiency in process mapping tools i.e. Visio and Figma
    • Proficiency in DevOps platforms i.e. Microsoft Azure DevOps
    • Ability to ask insightful questions to uncover business needs and clarify requirements and dig deeper into answers
  • Attributes:
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
    • Strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Knowledge
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of insurance industry processes.
