Job description

         JOB TITLE:   SUBSTITUTE Bus Driver/Maintenance 

         SITE LOCATION OF POSITION:  Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation Department

         TERM/HOURS OF POSITION:   Hours for this position will vary based on operational needs 

         ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:  Under the direction of the facilities and transportation director, and in association with the lead bus driver, drives a school bus over designated routes for the purpose of               transporting students to and from school and/or school related activities; maintains student discipline on the bus; submits daily reports as required; cleans and washes buses; monitors fluids and lubricants on buses; and             makes minor repairs.  Performs district maintenance and operation duties as designated by supervisor.

        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

        Education: 

  • Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • First aid and CPR certification required

        License and Certificate Requirements:

  • Possession of the required California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
  • Possession of a School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by California Highway Patrol including passing a first aid examination.

  • Bus driver's certificate and DMV H-6 driving record report.
  • Substitutes will be required to successfully complete and pass a post offer Drug and Alcohol testing.

  • Fingerprinting (Fingerprints must be paid for by the applicant. The fee is $49.00, payable in cash only and exact change is required)  
  • Copy of Driver's License
  • Copy of Social Security Card

       SALARY:  $23.31 Per Hours
