What You'll Do
The Transportation Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the Transportation Team operating at the FLETC Charleston facilities. As Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for managing a staff of shuttle bus drivers to ensure contract standards are met and exceeded. Your role expectations will include managerial tasks. Key duties include the following:
  • Supervise staff to ensure scope of work is completed to standard in accordance with PWS
  • Manage attendance & leave standards
  • Implement proper processes and procedures to ensure safety, efficiency, and high levels of customer service for all FLETC guests utilizing our Transportation Services
  • Utilize and implement key technologies (i.e. MVRs, geo-tracking, dash cams) to up-level and support the department's ability to function well
  • Address and resolve personnel issues to include counseling and payroll issues
  • Manage inventory control measures
  • Support supervisors to ensure scope of work is completed to standard in accordance with PWS
  • Assist in managing inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Have
  • At least 5 years of responsible experience in the management of transportation services of the approximate size of the FLETC Charleston facility
  • At least 1 year of specific experience in managing transportation type of services
  • Basic computer skills to include the ability to input data into the system and generate various reports and correspondence as required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid commercial driver's license
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of commercial transportation vehicles
  • Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws and regulation
  • Knowledge of basic travel requirements and restrictions
