**Position Summary:

We are seeking a Laser Burn Operator Helper for our client located in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will assist Laser operator & perform entry level or repetitive machine operation duties. Employee will work in extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots with metatarsal and hearing protection. When using grinders a full-face shield is required in addition to safety glasses. A great opportunity to build your career with a leading company while enjoying steady hours and overtime potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut metal materials to specified dimensions.

  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring instruments.

  • Set up saw equipment and adjust cutting parameters as needed.

  • Measure and verify material dimensions before and after cutting.

  • Inspect finished materials to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment when authorized.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

**Requirements:

  • Must have HS Diploma

  • Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred.

  • Experience operating band saws or other metal-cutting equipment preferred.

  • Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and metal materials.

  • Experience in steel, aluminum, or metal fabrication environments.

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience.

  • Basic math and measurement skills.

  • Must pass a Background & Drug Screen

  • Steeled-Toed Boots
