About the Position City of Lake Forest is seeking a Building Official. The ideal candidate is an experienced and service-oriented Building Official with 5 or more years in the position who thrives in a hands-on municipal environment. The individual possesses strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and has demonstrated experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing inspectors, permit technicians, and professional staff while fostering a responsive, customer-focused culture.

The individual will also lead the Division in advancing automation, driving innovation in service delivery, implementing state-of-the-art technology solutions, and actively contributing to implementation of the City's Technology Master Plan and Strategic Initiatives. This individual is comfortable working at the counter, solving problems in real time, and building trust with staff and the development community.
