Job description

Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company is seeking a dependable and hardworking Delivery Helper to support our delivery team with transporting lumber and building materials to jobsites and customers. This position works directly alongside a driver to safely load, secure, deliver, and unload materials while providing excellent customer service to contractors and homeowners.

This role is primarily delivery-focused but will also assist with general warehouse and yard duties to help support daily operations and maintain an organized, efficient work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading lumber, building materials, doors, windows, and related products
  • Help secure materials for safe transportation and delivery
  • Ride along on scheduled deliveries to jobsites, contractors, and customers
  • Assist with carrying and placing materials at delivery locations
  • Verify materials against delivery tickets and report any discrepancies or damages
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery trucks, warehouse areas, and lumber yard spaces
  • Support yard and warehouse operations including material staging, organizing inventory, sweeping, and general labor assistance
  • Follow all company safety procedures and proper lifting techniques
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries
  • Assist team members with additional operational and warehouse tasks as needed
 Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy building materials regularly
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced lumber yard and construction environment
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
  • Previous delivery, warehouse, lumber yard, or construction experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and commitment to safety
