  • Own delivery planning, prioritization, execution tracking, and risk management across platform initiatives, ensuring commitments are realistic, visible, and delivered with quality.

  • Establish and improve planning, estimation, sprint execution, release readiness, quality gates, and operational review processes.

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Controls, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to align roadmap priorities, dependencies, integration plans, and delivery milestones.

  • Drive disciplined execution across requirements clarity, technical readiness, test coverage, release planning, defect management, and production readiness.

  • Oversee software design, development, and execution for the AutoStore platform, ensuring scalable architecture, clear engineering ownership, and alignment with product and customer deployment needs.

  • Lead execution for secure, reliable, and observable connectivity between on-premise warehouse systems and cloud-based platform services, including integration, deployment, and operational readiness considerations.

  • Work closely with architects and senior engineers to ensure technical direction, design decisions, and engineering standards are understood, planned, and executed effectively by the teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 10+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in a software development management or engineering leadership role.

  • Proven experience managing software teams responsible for complex platform, middleware, distributed systems, or operational software delivery.

  • Strong track record in execution management, delivery planning, dependency management, engineering process improvement, and stakeholder communication.

  • Experience leading teams that deliver APIs, integration contracts, backend services, or platform capabilities across independently owned systems.

  • Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid architecture, including secure connectivity between on-premise systems and cloud services, is required.

  • Ability to balance technical depth, people leadership, execution discipline, and business priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Warehouse automation / robotics / intralogistics background (WES/WMS/WCS, AutoStore, ASRS, or comparable).

  • Experience managing teams working across independently owned software and control-system components.

  • Track record improving team execution, engineering processes, delivery predictability, and release quality at scale.

  • Warehouse logistics, automation, or intralogistics domain experience (ideally with 2-3 years of relevant exposure).

Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of distributed systems, control-platform architecture, APIs, messaging, data contracts, fault tolerance, and performance-sensitive software design.

  • Experience leading teams using modern programming languages, platforms, and engineering practices relevant to control systems, orchestration layers, middleware, or large-scale backend services.

  • Hands-on understanding of cloud platforms, hybrid connectivity patterns, CI/CD, observability, DevOps, testing automation, and release management practices relevant to platform delivery and operations.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinking with a bias toward action and results.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Skilled in balancing people leadership, technical depth, execution discipline, and big-picture thinking to guide teams through delivery trade-offs and scaling challenges.

  • Experience representing engineering in planning, quarterly business reviews, strategy sessions, and delivery governance forums.
