Job Summary
The Electrical Assembler / Technical Assistant supports the production of electrical assemblies and standard products by building, testing, and maintaining components and subassemblies. This role follows assembly procedures, supports product quality, assists with inventory management, and helps maintain technical documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
In addition to assembly responsibilities, this position supports the Standard Products Manager with component procurement, inventory control, product testing, and documentation updates to help ensure efficient production operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical components, wiring harnesses, control panels, and subassemblies accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow verbal instructions, written procedures, engineering drawings, and sample builds to meet quality and production standards.
  • Use hand tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively, including wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, and testing devices.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and communicate concerns to management.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with the procurement, receiving, and distribution of components used in production.
  • Monitor component inventory levels and notify the Standard Products Manager of shortages or potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, material tracking, and inventory maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate material availability to support production schedules.
  • Perform testing and verification of completed assemblies to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
  • Document test results and communicate quality concerns promptly.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements that enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating assembly instructions, technical documentation, and product records.
  • Support documentation for new products and assembly processes.
  • Research and gather technical information needed for product updates or improvements.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding production processes and documentation effectiveness.

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using hand tools and basic electrical assembly equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions consistently.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Dependable work ethic with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial assembly.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor Prophet 21.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other computer-aided drafting software.
  • Experience with inventory control, material management, or purchasing support.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely work with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Use visual acuity to inspect small components and wiring assemblies accurately.
