Job description

Logistics Broker (West Loop) We are full-service third-party logistics (3PL) provider with big advantages to offer - from transportation brokerage services and freight management to complete transportation outsourcing. We are currently seeking a Sales Executive to procure, manage and broker freight. You will be responsible for providing quality transportation solutions for customer utilizing partner carriers that will meet or exceed the customers expectation.

Responsibilities include: * Grow assigned leads and develop new leads * Book freight from customer into system, set appointments, and coordinate logistical concerns * Communicate the scheduling of all inbound and outbound movements with the customer including preparing a daily shipping schedule and updating the customer on selection of carrier or mode. * Broker freight to partner carriers who will meet or exceed service and safety standards. * Negotiate rates with customers and partner carriers with an eye on maximizing margins.

* Provide exemplary customer service to customer base and partner carriers. * Resolve operational conflicts with or between customers, carriers, shippers, and receivers. * Settle disputes with partner carriers.

* Continually probe for more sales opportunities with carriers via telephone. * Continually research and negotiate with for hire carriers to increase partner carrier base. * Track arrival of all carriers and communicate with customers Logistics personnel arrival and departure of carrier while imputing the arrival and departure check calls in the TMS system.

To qualify for this position, you must possess a minimum of 2 years transportation experience a Associates Degree is prefered, plus transferable brokerage experience.
