Overview: 

The KYW Newsradio Traffic Center is looking for a Part-Time Traffic Reporter for the traffic team broadcasting traffic reports across the cluster of Audacy stations in Philadelphia including KYW Newsradio.The job will be based out of Audacy's Philadelphia 2400 Market Street facilities. Duties include: Gather, write, select and broadcast traffic stories to run in radio traffic reports, over air, on line, and on social media platforms. Supervise all traffic operations assets in the production, writing, and presentation of traffic reports and digital content. Must plan and prepare for upcoming traffic coverage for planned traffic events as well as unplanned traffic events. Must be available to work weekends and overnights.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Voicing Traffic reports on Audacy stations to air on broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Gathering, writing, recording, editing and delivering traffic reports as outlined by Audacy Inc.
  • Monitoring of traffic gathering data assets (i.e. 511 PA Traffic information websites, traffic camera imagery, scanner listening, etc.)
  • Make phone calls to area police, fire & DOT agencies to source and verify Traffic incident information.
  • Post, edit & manage traffic information to Audacy Social media accounts i.e. Twitter X.
  • Providing live reads of traffic sponsors within designated reports by the company including logging commercials and discrepancies.
  • Making station appearances as required.
  • Participate in routine on-air performance aircheck sessions with management.
  • Other duties as required by management.
  • Position offers AFTRA Benefits and applicant must be willing to join SAG AFTRA.
Qualifications

More About You:

Required:

  • A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia area traffic geography.
  • Minimum 2-year traffic or news reporting for broadcast media.
  • Must be computer literate, have excellent writing and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack & other online collaboration platforms.
  • Must be able to gather & ready real time incident and other traffic information.
  • Must be an experienced story teller in broadcast traffic reports.
  • Knowledge of the broadcast area commuting/local geography and transportation systems are essential.
