Bridge Laborer Job Description
Bridge laborers play a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridge structures. Responsibilities vary depending on the project scope, but all bridge laborers are expected to support the safe and efficient operation of the job site.

Primary Duties Include (but are not limited to):
  • Assisting in the setup and dismantling of bridge formwork and falsework;
  • Handling and positioning rebar, concrete, and structural steel components;
  • Operating pneumatic and electric tools such as jackhammers, drills, and grinders;
  • Flagging traffic and assisting with temporary lane closures;
  • Loading and unloading bridge construction materials;
  • Shoveling, raking, and compacting dirt, gravel, and asphalt around bridge approaches;
  • General site cleanup and debris removal;
  • Installation and maintenance of traffic control devices specific to bridge work zones;
  • Assisting with rigging and hoisting operations under supervision;
  • Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in bridge construction.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending. Must be able to climb ladders and access elevated work areas. Periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Work may be performed in varying weather conditions and at heights. Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
