Job description

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

Rogers Group is currently seeking a Plant Operator/Hole at our Butler Sand Plant in the Butler, GA area, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence and be flexible to work weekends.

Job Details:

  • Starting wage is $25.00 per hour
  • Fulltime/Permanent
  • Weekend work may be required
  • Overtime available along with medical and retirement benefits

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and perform hole and pit responsibilities
  • Assist in sand mining process
  • Barge/water cannon operations
  • Be able to operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery
  • Inspect and maintain conveyors, screens, and other equipment
  • Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
  • Properly follow all company policies and MSHA/ environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment 
  • Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have a dedication to safe work practices at all times
  • At least one year of sand mining experience!
  • Experience welding and metal fabrication is a plus
  • Able to perform safety and maintenance inspections
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Team player attitude
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
