Job description

We Do Consulting Differently

Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead core financial management reporting, FP&A and accounting activities within our Corporate Finance practice. This individual will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting, while partnering with senior leadership to drive financial insights and operational performance.

The Senior Finance Manager will oversee a Senior FP&A Analyst and a billing team of 5+ professionals acting as a strategic partner to practice leadership and corporate stakeholders. This role requires strong reporting skills, executive communication skills, technical accounting foundation, leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

The Corporate Finance practice is an established, yet growing and entrepreneurial setting where you have the autonomy to build process and systems to meet aggressive growth plans. This role supports a Corporate Finance practice that includes competencies such as turnaround and restructuring, performance improvement, CFO advisory, transaction advisory and other financial advisory services with broad industry capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Financial & Management Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
  • Liaise with Corporate BRG accounting team on monthly close processes
  • Lead and oversee FP&A activities through direct management of the Senior FP&A Analyst, including:
    • Budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Financial modeling and scenario analyses
    • Practice-level performance reporting and KPI tracking
    • Management and BOD-level reporting
  • Provide actionable financial insights to Corporate Finance leadership to support decision-making, resource allocation, and growth initiatives
  • Partner with practice leaders to monitor engagement performance and profitability
  • Manage WIP and receivables with the billing and Corporate BRG accounting teams
  • Systems & Process Improvement

    • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and automation
    • Partner with IT and Finance leadership on ERP optimization (e.g., Workday)
    • Support integration of financial reporting for newly acquired entities, ensuring consistency in reporting frameworks

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team (Billing, FP&A, etc.)
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
    • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree required
    • Accounting, Finance, or related business majors required

    Experience:

    • 8+ years of experience
    • Experience working in a professional services environment
    • Graduation from a top-tier undergraduate program / business school
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday)
    • Experience with Workday Finance and Adaptive is preferred
    • Advanced proficiency required in MS Excel and PowerPoint (PPT)
    • Advanced communication and written skills

    Abilities:

    • Strong expertise in financial reporting and management reporting
    • Experience overseeing or partnering with FP&A functions, including budgeting and forecasting
    • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead, manage and develop high-performing teams
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to and influence senior leadership
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic professional services environment
    • Meticulous attention to detail and proven time management skills
    • Forward-looking thinker who demonstrates the ability to anticipate needs
    • Positive approach along with the highest level of customer/client service
    • Flexibility in adjusting work schedule based on client demands

    Salary Range: $150,000 to $250,000 per year.
