The Role at a glance:
We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Breakfast Prep Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Breakfast Production Cook with Cura Hospitality, you will be responsible for high-volume breakfast production serving several hundred customers daily in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, and skilled in large-batch cooking while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards. *The Breakfast Prep Cook will be scheduled 2:30am - 11:00am with rotating weekends.*
What you'll be doing:
  • Prepare and execute high-volume breakfast production for retail, patient, and catering needs
  • Produce breakfast items including (but not limited to) eggs, breakfast meats, griddle items, hot cereals, and batch-cooked sides
  • Follow standardized recipes, production sheets, and portion control guidelines
  • Ensure food quality, temperature control, and presentation standards are met
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper rotation of products (FIFO)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership and production team to meet daily volume demands

What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
  • Prior experience in high-volume food production required
  • Breakfast/griddle experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work early morning hours consistently
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable attendance and strong time-management skills

Nice-to-haves:
  • Healthcare or institutional foodservice experience is a plus
