Reports To: Plant / Bakery Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Master Baker leads bread production on shift, overseeing all helpers, bench hands, and oven men to ensure every loaf meets La Segunda's legendary standard. This is a leadership production role in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ย ย ย ย ย  Mix and prepare dough according to La Segunda's authentic recipes

ย ย ย ย ย  Run the shift to ensure proper loaf count and quality consistency

ย ย ย ย ย  Manage and supervise helpers, bench hands, and oven men on shift

ย ย ย ย ย  Enforce all company appearance standards and policies

ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure proper setup, operation, and cleaning of all equipment

ย ย ย ย ย  Follow all FDA and company food safety rules during the shift

ย ย ย ย ย  Keep all baker workspaces clean and sanitary at all times

ย ย ย ย ย  Use FIFO stock process; report any supply shortages to Plant Manager immediately

ย ย ย ย ย  Fill out operations book as required

ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain La Segunda's high standards for product quality

ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure all assigned cleanup tasks are completed to company and federal standards

WHAT YOU BRING

ย ย ย ย ย  Proficiency in all production positions: helper, bench hand, rolling, oven, and mixing

ย ย ย ย ย  Food manufacturing experience preferred

ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to manage and motivate a team of up to 15 staff

ย ย ย ย ย  Working knowledge of all food safety requirements including FSMA

ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to stand for long periods and lift 75+ lbs overhead

ย ย ย ย ย  Strong team player with accountability-focused leadership style
