Summary:

The Depot Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a bread distribution depot. This includes supervising drivers and warehouse staff, ensuring timely and accurate product deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, and overseeing depot safety and cleanliness. The role plays a key part in supporting route operations and helping the sales team meet customer expectations.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise depot staff, including customers, drivers, loaders, and warehouse personnel.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of bread products to ensure accuracy and freshness.
  • Manage depot inventory levels and coordinate product returns, damages, and stale reporting.
  • Ensure all routes leave the depot on time with the correct product and paperwork.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure the depot is clean, organized, and secure always.
  • Communicate daily with Market Managers, Sales, and corporate teams regarding orders and delivery updates.
  • Monitor and maintain company vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Lead by example in safety practices and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Train new depot employees on procedures, safety expectations, and company values.
  • Assist with route coverage or product deliveries as needed.
  • Complete required reports, paperwork, and communication logs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
