Job description

The Communications & PR Marketing Intern supports our marketing and communications team. This role offers hands-on experience in public relations, corporate communications, and brand storytelling. The intern will assist with media outreach, content development, and internal/external communications efforts while gaining exposure to strategic messaging and reputation management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and public-facing communications
  • Support media outreach efforts, including building and maintaining media lists
  • Monitor media coverage and compile regular press and sentiment reports
  • Help develop content for blogs, newsletters, social media, and company announcements
  • Support internal communications, including employee updates and leadership messaging
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and media opportunities
  • Assist in planning and executing PR campaigns, events, and announcements
  • Ensure brand voice and messaging consistency across all communications

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication channels

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing for a school publication, blog, or internship
  • Basic understanding of media relations and PR strategies
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools or databases
  • Experience with content management systems or email marketing platforms
