Job description

At AstraZeneca, we are changing the way cancer is treated through science, innovation, and a deep commitment to patients. Our ambition in Oncology is bold: to redefine cancer care, transform outcomes, and bring life-changing medicines to people around the world.
As one of the fastest-growing areas of our business, Oncology combines a world-class pipeline, market-leading brands, and a relentless focus on scientific advancement. Joining this team means working at the forefront of one of the most dynamic and meaningful areas in healthcare.
We are looking for a Global Marketing Director, TROP-2 ADC to join our Global Oncology Franchise Team in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a high-impact global role for a senior commercial leader whose strongest asset is brand strategy and who thrives in shaping growth beyond a single indication. You will help define how TROP-2 ADC evolves across tumor types, lead pan-tumor and above-brand strategy, and influence the commercial choices that will shape the brand's future. This role reports to the Global Franchise Head, TROP-2 ADC and Lung Cancer.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As Global Marketing Director,TROP-2 ADC , you will play a central role in shaping the long-term commercial direction of the brand. Working across the organization, you will translate scientific opportunity, customer insight, and market dynamics into clear strategic choices that support growth and improve outcomes for patients.
You will contribute commercial insight to the clinical development program, helping assess new opportunities and informing investment decisions through strong business cases grounded in customer understanding, competitive intelligence, and market analysis. You will lead indication-agnostic and pan-tumor brand strategy across the portfolio, shaping the brand narrative and advancing above-brand initiatives that strengthen TROP-2 ADC's positioning in a rapidly evolving oncology landscape.
You will also lead strategic work across adverse event support programs, omnichannel engagement, congress strategy, and above-brand communications, while driving alignment across a broad cross-functional network that includes Global Product Teams, Medical, Market Access, Diagnostics, regional teams, country teams, and other Oncology Business Unit partners. In addition, you will contribute to financial planning and governance, identify opportunities to maximize cross-franchise synergies, and help shape partnerships and market-facing initiatives that create long-term value.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a strategic, commercially minded leader with a strong track record in pharmaceutical development and commercialization. You bring the judgment to navigate complexity, the credibility to work across scientific and commercial teams, and the ability to connect insight with action in ways that drive brand performance.
This role is especially well suited to someone who is energized by enterprise-level brand strategy. You may be the right fit if your strongest experience lies in defining brand direction, shaping narratives across a portfolio, identifying future growth opportunities, and bringing diverse stakeholders together around a shared ambition. If you are at your best when building strategy in science-led, matrixed environments, this role offers the scale and visibility to make a meaningful impact.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Oncology pharmaceutical development and commercialization.
  • Experience supporting or leading successful brand launches in key markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across a complex matrix organization.
  • Strong scientific acumen, intellectual curiosity, and learning agility.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to turn insights into effective brand strategy.
  • A strong understanding of the strategic and operational drivers of in-market success.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across scientific and commercial teams.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Sales or other customer-facing experience.
  • Experience in both market and global commercial organizations.

WHY ASTRAZENECA?
At AstraZeneca, you will be part of a team that combines scientific depth with commercial ambition to deliver meaningful change for patients. We foster an environment where bold thinking is encouraged, innovation is expected, and collaboration is essential. Here, you will work with talented colleagues across disciplines and geographies, with the opportunity to shape strategy at a global level and help define the future of cancer care.
This role is based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, home to the US Headquarters for the Global Oncology Business Unit. Our approach to work is flexible, while recognizing the value of in-person collaboration. Employees are generally expected to work from the office a minimum of three days per week on average, with flexibility built in where possible.
COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $260,000 to $320,000 USD.
Base pay is determined by several factors, including market location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. In addition, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive bonus, and where applicable, participation in an equity-based long-term incentive program. AstraZeneca also offers a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan, paid vacation and holidays, paid leave, and health benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage.
If you are ready to lead with strategy, shape the future of TROP-2 ADC, and help bring meaningful innovation to patients with cancer, we encourage you to apply.
