A Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the branch and managing day-to-day activities while the Branch Manager is focused on driving sales in the field. This role oversees the branch’s building product operations, including the sale and distribution of windows, gutters, and siding, while ensuring the branch operates efficiently and customer needs are met. The Operations Manager also assists the Inside Sales team and Warehouse Manager as needed.

Branch Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Live our mission statement centered on our values of respect, service, and excellence
  • Works under the direction of the branch manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the branch
  • Plays a critical role in the profitability of the branch and assists the branch manager with P&L management
  • Supervises the inside sales staff and the warehouse manager
  • Serves as the “go-to” leader for customer service opportunities and issues
  • Searches for ways to improve branch operations and sales
  • Monitors all branch operations, including: warehouse processes, physical inventory, fleet, payroll, bank deposits, cycle counts, and daily reports using Lansing's "day's work in a day's time" philosophy
  • Works alongside the warehouse manager and associates
  • Uses company's sophisticated inventory management network, which ties all Lansing branches together
  • Responsible for branch staffing
  • Does what is necessary to get the job done while following our mission statement

Branch Operations Manager Qualifications:

  • Experienced manager and supervisor with the ability to motivate subordinates
  • High integrity and energy while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced manager with the ability to motivate subordinates
  • Experience with building products either as a salesperson or in senior warehouse roles
  • Ability to meet -- and reach -- personal goals
  • Strong interest in sales and/or retail as evidenced by previous jobs or by education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills -- the ability to work one-on-one with customers and the ability to resolve sensitive business-related issues
  • Strong computer knowledge
  • All-around business professional with exceptional telephone etiquette
