SCOPE OF POSITION:

Performs duties to ensure daily production requirements are fulfilled to meet shipping deadlines. Provides schedules and other information to production personnel and management in order to fabricate products to meet customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews Production schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation and department to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Determines time requirements, optimum sequence and manufacturing lead times for production
  • Plans sequence of operations for guidance of production workers
  • Works with Production Planners and Management to alter work schedules to meet unforeseen conditions and address capacity contraints; expedites rush orders to meet customer needs.
  • Advises Sales and Construction Services of any delays due to shortages or time requirements and relays due dates of job
  • Works with Production Planner / Production Clerk to have jobs released as needed
  • Releases job packs to shop floor based on earliest date, capacity, and lead-time. Tracks shop orders through the processes to ensure jobs are complete upon arrival at shipping.
  • Encourages efficient utilization of equipment and facilities. Assists in ensuring that work groups have necessary resources to complete requirements
  • Assists in maintaining basic production records and updates information systems as required. Review scheduling metrics with department manager to improve performance of work centers, inventory, and order velocity.
  • Supports other Production Schedulers and Planners with their duties when workload dictates.
  • Ensures conformance to all aspects of the ISO 14001 standard and Construction Specialties' Environmental Management System (EMS), including its environmental policy while performing job functions that may have a significant impact on the environment.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

  • 2-year technical degree; experience instead of a degree will be considered
  • 1-3 years experience in production planning and/or scheduling field
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience with shop orders, manufacturing routings, and capacity planning
