Job description

Breast Oncologist Opportunity

MaineHealth Cancer Care is seeking a Breast Oncologist to join the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, based at the MaineHealth Scarborough Cancer Center and Maine Medical Center in Portland. The MaineHealth Scarborough Cancer Center and Maine Medical Center are based in Portland, Maine; one of the nation's top small port cities. Unspoiled landscape, beautiful vistas, outdoor activities, and exceptional shopping make this a destination point for many. With a metro area population of 230,000, the city is serviced by an international airport and Amtrak and is approximately 90 minutes from Boston. Excellent private and public education is available, and housing is varied and affordable. The region is home to several colleges and universities, including the Maine College of Art, the University of New England, the University of Maine, and Bowdoin, Bates and Colby Colleges.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in breast medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and additional specialists, joining the multidisciplinary breast oncology program at a newly renovated Cancer Center in Scarborough, Maine. Prior experience in breast oncology within an academic health system is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered. MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated, state-of-the-art, cancer and hematology care across a network that cares for 7,600 new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grown significantly over the past three years and exceed 80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups.

We offer a comprehensive and market competitive benefit package including malpractice, Medical/Dental/Vision, 403b with match, and more!

Come practice in a location that provides unsurpassed natural beauty, safe communities, excellent schools, and nearly unlimited four-season outdoor recreation.
