Job Description

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates program activities with respect to all inbound, internal and external material movements.  This position is also responsible for all of the following with respect to materials: supplier performance, customer satisfaction, economical transportation cost, inventory accuracy, and inventory turns.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Define vision, strategy and priorities for logistics in FleP (e.g. benchmark information flow and material flow, aligned roadmap)
  • Oversee the interface link to our customers with regard to all aspects of customer logistics.
  • Monitor customer ratings and take corrective actions as required
  • Ensure prompt distribution of customer requirements and the conversion of these customer requirements to production build plans and supplier schedules
  • Drive Automation and Digitalization in areas of Planning , Physical logistics, Warehouse management and Material flow within the plant .
  • Act as a key partner within the value stream organization to support the team with the highest logistics service level at the most optimized cost (e.g advanced planning systems, consignment concepts)
  • Ensure the coordination of transport is performed in an economical manner and at a high level of service
  • Responsible for the design, procurement and container management/tracking of all applicable customer and supplier packaging.
  • Oversee physical logistics operations to ensure effective material storage, stock rotation and internal delivery processes
  • Establish target set-up of all SAP logistics settings to ensure system optimization.
  • Oversee shipping to ensure customer requirements are met with respect to labeling, outbound window times, paperwork and electronic communication
  • Ensure proper implementation of ECO’s to eliminate obsolete material
  • Proactively collaborate and coach suppliers to detect potential critical deliveries. Utilize early warning and allocation tools to manage distressed suppliers.
  • Support and lead continuous improvement activities with respect to Lean Manufacturing as well as develop and introduce Industry 4.0 solutions (e.g. introduction of RFID, fleet analytics)
  • Interface with all levels and departments of the global organization as required
  • For the logistics team, create connection of targets and goals with the regional strategy deployment matrix.
  • Responsible for the establishment of the Logistics Budget, and adherence to the Budget.
  • Responsible for the pre-production logistics organization for new programs  
  • Contribute and network with Global and Regional Bosch Logistics councils (e.g. Logistics Steering North America, Logistics Steering committee North America
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University; or 10 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Their experience should be gained in areas of inbound planning, customer service, transportation management change management receiving, warehousing and shipping operations.

  • Must have Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.  Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, and Test Software).
