Job Summary:
The Online Bookstore Order Specialist is responsible for managing the processing, packaging, and fulfillment of online bookstore orders. This role supports the college's digital storefront by ensuring that students, faculty, and other customers receive accurate and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Process incoming online orders for textbooks, course materials, supplies, and merchandise
โ€ข Pick, pack, and prepare shipments accurately and efficiently
โ€ข Print shipping labels and documentation for outgoing orders
โ€ข Monitor online order status, including cancellations, backorders, and returns
โ€ข Ensure orders meet bookstore accuracy, quality, and delivery standards
โ€ข Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current course materials and inventory availability
โ€ข Communicate with customers regarding order issues, delays, or substitutions
โ€ข Work with shipping carriers to resolve delivery problems or claims
โ€ข Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock replenishment
โ€ข Collaborate with in-store team to support peak periods and special campus events
Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required
โ€ข Experience in retail, e-commerce fulfillment, or inventory management preferred
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
โ€ข Basic computer skills; experience with POS and e-commerce systems a plus
