We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support high-volume financial operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Durham, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who can maintain accurate records, manage daily accounting activity, and ensure vendor and customer balances remain current. The Bookkeeper will play a key part in reviewing large transaction volumes, confirming account accuracy, and keeping financial information organized and reliable.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, maintaining complete and accurate financial records across core accounting functions.
• Process accounts payable transactions, verify vendor information, and help ensure supplier-related financial data is current and properly recorded.
• Manage accounts receivable activity, monitor incoming payments, and maintain accurate customer account balances.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to confirm transactions align with supporting records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Review a high volume of monthly financial activity, including more than 10,000 transactions, to ensure totals are accurate and accounts are balanced.
• Maintain organized documentation for accounting entries, payment activity, and reconciliation work to support reporting and audit readiness.
• Use QuickBooks to record transactions, update ledgers, and produce dependable financial records for ongoing business needs.• Demonstrated experience in full-charge bookkeeping with responsibility for end-to-end accounting support.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and confidence working within accounting software on a daily basis.
• Hands-on experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong background in bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies in financial records.
• Ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment with large transaction counts each month.
