Finance and Business Systems Manager

HANGAR 24 BREWERY

Redlands, CA • On-site, Remote

Full-time

PTO

Re-posted 4 days ago

Job description

Why You'll Love This Role

This isn't a traditional bookkeeping role.

Hangar 24 is building a more modern, automated, AI-enabled finance and operations infrastructure, and we're looking for a builder - but someone who loves improving systems, cleaning up processes, using technology well, and turning messy data into useful business insight.

Routine accounting support will be handled through outsourced partners, allowing this role to focus on the work that matters most internally: payroll, financial visibility, reporting, systems, vendor accountability, process improvement, and operational support.

If you get excited about automation, clean reporting, better workflows, and helping a growing business understand what is financially true, this role was built for you.

What You'll Spend Your Time Doing
  • Process and submit payroll through Paylocity accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs with HR and operations, including timecards, tips, earnings, deductions, PTO, benefits, status changes, and payroll adjustments.
  • Manage and improve key financial and operational systems, including QuickBooks Online, MarginEdge, Toast, Ekos, Paylocity, Sling, spreadsheets, and related tools.
  • Partner with outsourced bookkeeping/accounting partners to ensure month-end reporting is timely, accurate, and useful.
  • Review financial reports, payroll data, COGS, inventory, receivables, payables, and location-level results for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Use AI, automation, and integrations to reduce manual work, improve reporting, and support better decision-making.
  • Build practical reporting that gives leadership visibility into sales, labor, payroll, COGS, Prime Cost, inventory, brewery production costs, wholesale/distributor performance, cash flow, and controllable expenses.
  • Help identify cost drift, margin leakage, vendor issues, stale inventory, and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Manage relationships with bookkeeping/accounting, IT, insurance, banking, benefits, software, and other administrative partners.
  • Support business administration needs, including records, renewals, licenses, insurance documents, vendor information, mail, and recurring administrative workflows.
  • Document processes and help build scalable systems that reduce manual work and reliance on tribal knowledge.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of finance, accounting, payroll, operations, or business systems experience.
  • Experience processing or managing payroll, preferably in Paylocity or a similar payroll/HRIS platform.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and comfort working across financial and operational systems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as MarginEdge, Toast, Ekos, Sling, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort working with reporting exports, spreadsheets, and system data.
  • Comfort using AI and automation tools to improve workflows, summarize trends, document processes, and reduce manual work.
  • Strong understanding of labor cost, COGS, inventory, Prime Cost, payroll, vendor spend, and controllable expenses.
  • Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, brewery, manufacturing, wholesale, or multi-location operations is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial and operational data into clear, practical insights.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable building processes in a growing business.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
You'll Thrive Here If You
  • Constantly ask, "Why are we still doing this manually?"
  • Enjoy building better systems and cleaner workflows.
  • Can balance hands-on payroll processing with higher-level reporting and process improvement.
  • Like solving problems across finance, operations, systems, and vendors.
  • Are comfortable working in the messy middle while processes are still being built.
  • Believe financial information should help leaders make better decisions - not just sit in a report.
Work Details
  • Full-time, exempt position.
  • Hybrid work environment with regular travel to Hangar 24 locations.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunity to help shape the future of a growing, innovative craft brewery.
  • Actual compensation within this range will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
The Fine Print

Hangar 24 Craft Brewery is an equal opportunity employer. This role may evolve as the business grows, and additional related duties may be assigned.
