This position is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying design requirements and manufacturing methods. This role involves improving existing processes, developing new methods for production, and working closely with other departments to ensure products meet our safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure compliance of safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve workflow.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
  • Develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Design layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment setups.
  • Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency through Lean Manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Implement corrective actions for any quality issues that arise.
  • Own manufacturing or assembly process from prototype through end of life
  • Ensure Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) routing detail is correct for accurate cost and quality detail
  • Perform Return On Investment (ROI) calculations on capital equipment and make/buy analysis

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Safety Focused
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Computer skills- Must have intermediate computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Epicor.
  • Must be intermediate using 3D modeling and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA)
  • Great understanding of BOM structure and reading manufacturing prints
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Communication proficiency both verbal and written
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to function well under the demands of project due dates

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or like degree required
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role in assembly or fabrication environment required
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001
  • Great understanding of the product development process; Stage Gate preferred
  • Extensive experience in structured root cause and corrective action methodology required
