Summary
The primary role of a Boiler Technician is the responsibility of all of the systems that generate heat or electricity in a facility.  The main equipment responsibilities include: Low-pressure boilers; High-pressure boilers; Power boilers; Steam boilers; and, Hot water heating systems. Boiler Technicians must make manual adjustments to this equipment during their servicing. The Laborer follows B&D's policies and procedures and provides consistent quality customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Always maintain safety as a priority
  • Provide routine maintenance on the equipment and systems
  • Proficient use of hand or power tools when performing tasks
  • Replace defective valves, filters, or steam gauges on heating systems
  • Test boiler water and balance with chemicals if needed
  • Monitor systems during operation and attend to any issues that may arise
  • Record service data in logs
  • Communicate to foremen on an as needed basis for restocking of materials and supplies for projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Team player

Education and Experience
  • New Mexico B01 or B02 License
  • Provide and maintain a clean driving record
  • Valid driver's license
  • Background check
  • Drug test for initial hire
  • Random drug tests
