Title: Utility Worker
Location: Eastcastle Place
Salary : $15.00/ hour (note we are a no tip facility)
Position Type: Part time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Tuesday and Thursdays 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, every other weekend 11:00 am - 7:30 pm

As a Dishwasher, you'll play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness help ensure our culinary team can provide outstanding service to our residents.
What You Will Do:
  • Wash, sanitize, organize, and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares. Safely operate the dish machine and three-compartment sink, including completing required temperature and sanitizer checks.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and service areas by completing assigned cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, deep cleaning, and shift-closing responsibilities.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, labeling, and properly storing food. Stock food, supplies, prep areas, serving lines, and kitchen stations as needed.
  • Assist with preparing, plating, and serving Health Center meals according to resident meal tickets and established procedures, including following documented therapeutic diets, allergies, and food preferences.
  • Assist with dining room and meal service operations as needed, including setting tables, stocking service stations, clearing tables, maintaining dining areas, and supporting service before, during, and after meals.
  • Work in the Bistro as scheduled or based on operational needs, including preparing and serving food and beverages, stocking supplies and grab-and-go items, maintaining inventory, completing opening and closing duties, and keeping Bistro areas clean and organized.
  • Provide friendly, timely, and professional service to residents, guests, families, and coworkers. Anticipate and respond to resident and guest needs while recognizing that every interaction contributes to the overall resident experience.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, PPE, department policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety requirements. Complete required QA, cleaning, stocking, and shift checklists accurately and report safety, equipment, food quality, or operational concerns promptly.
  • Work cooperatively with cooks, servers, dietary staff, Bistro staff, supervisors, and other Hospitality team members. Remain flexible and willing to assist in different work areas based on department needs and perform other duties as assigned to support Hospitality Services.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • At least one year of previous food service experience in a nursing home assisted living and/or elderly rehabilitation community, preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, understands requests.
  • Ability to work independently and in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
  • Possesses ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Must use sound judgement, works well under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills.
