Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Body Shop Manager. The role of the Body Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the branch's Body Shop in compliance with established policies and procedures. Plans, directs and controls the activities of the Body Shop to ensure the overall growth and profit objectives are met. Formulate the major objectives, specific plans, plan procedures and programs for the Body Shop. Evaluates the department's results and performance against objectives. Maintain the highest quality standards of professionalism in serving the customer and identifying their needs.
  • Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of the Body Shop.
  • Establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the Body Shop within the Company's overall plans and policies.
  • Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department.
  • Formulates annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budget in accordance with company objectives.
  • Reviews and appraises the results of activities within the department and takes appropriate action as necessary.
  • Maintains appropriate communication within and between all departments within the branch.
  • Promotes safe work habits and ensures that safety rules are followed,
  • Sells customer repair and body shop labor, directly calling on customers for their repair work.
  • Writes estimates on all wrecks, locally and out of town, if necessary.
  • Maintains company service tools and equipment and makes sure they are used properly.
  • Reviews all Body Shop repair orders making sure everything is complete and the total repair order is in accordance with the original estimate and any supplement which may have been added.
  • Develops good relations with customer, adjusters, and insurance companies.

Qualifications
  • CDL preferred.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of a body shop operation.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in body shop related field.
  • Requires previous supervisory experience.
  • Must have excellent management and communication skills.
  • Must have strong work ethic and be committed to working with employees and other departments for the overall success of the company.
