JOB SUMMARY The Boardwalk Operations Specialist is a dynamic, flexible team member trained to suport multiple guest-facing departments across the park. While primarily assigned to Rides Operations, this role also provides support in Arcades, Games & Attractions, Admissions, Retail, and Parking/Park Services (including Facility Host) based on daily staffing needs. Boardwalk Operations Specialists may work in several locations during a single shift and are expected to quickly adapt to new environments, follow department procedures, and deliver excellent guest service wherever assigned.

This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and excited about developing a broad range of skills across the entire Boardwalk operation. UNIQUE JOB REQUIREMENTS This role is a unique opportunity to provide support and guest service across the Boardwalk. This Boardwalk Operations Specialist would be one of the few team members who truly understand how the entire Boardwalk operates, which makes this job feel exciting, dynamic, and far from routine. This job provides variety, constant movement, and requires the ability to jump in, help out, fill in and keep the Boardwalk operation moving smoothly. JOB TASKS * Follow all Ride Operator job tasks when assigned to a Ride location * Follow all Arcades, Games & Attractions Operator job tasks when assigned to an Arcades, Games & Attractions location * Follow all Admission Representative job tasks when assigned to Admissions location * Follow all Retail Associate job tasks when assigned to Retail location * Follow all Parking/Park Services Attendant & Facility Host job tasks when assigned to Parking/Park Services department * Provide friendly, positive, and proactive guest service in every assigned area * Maintain a welcoming, helpful attitude while assisting guests with questions, directions, and concerns * Respond to real-time staffing needs by transitioning efficiently between departments * Quickly learn and correctly follow department-specific procedures, safety standards, and service guidelines * Maintain clear communication with supervisors throughout department transitions RELATIONSHIPS INTERNAL All levels of Santa Cruz Seaside Company team members. EXTERNAL Extremely high volume of interaction with guests TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE * At least 16 years of age * Open availability * At least 1 season worked in Ride Operations a plus * At least 1 year of Boardwalk experience a plus * At least 1 year of working with a Point of Sale System a plus * Must provide outstanding level of guest service KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES * Ability to adapt to multiple roles and environments in a single shift * Strong guest service and communication skills * Willingness to learn and retain procedures across several departments * Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions * Must be dependable, positive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced guest environment * Flexible and enthusiastic about switching tasks as needed * Motivated self-starter who enjoys learning and taking on new challenges * Team-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism * Comfortable interacting with guests of all ages and backgrounds PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Bimanual dexterity * Ability to use computer-based point of sale systems to perform sales transactions, follow proper cash handling procedures, and provide correct change for cash transactions * Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time including moving between different work locations across the Boardwalk * Ability to work outdoors for up to 8 hours at a time in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and sun exposure * Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb stairs and perform similar movements throughout the shift * Ability to use arms and legs to carry, lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs (e.g., moving stanchions, game equipment, merchandise boxes, ride gate components, or cleaning tools) * Able to hear normal conversations and respond verbally * Able to visually observe ride areas/guest behavior, read a variety of materials including manuals, and respond to visual and/or audio safety signals/cues * Able to work in an environment with loud, repetitive noises and flashing lights, including strobe lights, black lights, and theater smoke * Able to maintain a variety of fixed head positions and/or repetitive head motions while exposed to fast motion rides and spinning rides, observing the ride and guests while a ride is in motion * Ability to use a 2-way radio system and telephones for verbal communication * Able to effectively use standard cleaning supplies, including but not limited to, ammonia, glass cleaner, and bleach * Able to effectively use standard cleaning equipment, including but not limited to, mops, brooms, and dustpans LICENSES/INSURANCE n/a TESTING POST OFFER OF HIRE n/a
