Job Responsibility:
Responsible for promoting The Salvation Army's mission and programs in the community, implementing, and sustaining the Angel Tree Program, engaging with key community partners, organization of special events, securing corporate sponsorships as needed, and assisting in the overall fundraising initiatives of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities
Duties:
  1. Angel Tree:

-Sustain the Angel Tree Program in Central Kentucky
  1. Echelon

-Serve as Lead Staff for the Echelon Young Professionals Program
-Meet with community leaders & organizations to promote the program
  1. Digital Fundraising:-Oversee Kentucky Gives Day Digital Campaign (May)
    -Oversee Bluegrass Community Foundation Good Giving Challenge Campaign (November)
    -Manage CKAS Website
  2. Direct Mail Campaign:-Serve as the CKAS Lead around the Direct Mail Campaign
    -Secure local stories for the Direct Mail Campaign

Community Relations & Promotions:
-Represent The Salvation Army on local boards, Chambers of Commerce, and committees as assigned.
-Collaborate with partner agencies on behalf of The Salvation Army
  1. Development Team Responsibilities:

-Assist the Development Manager as needed with contacts that may include personal visits, written thank you correspondence, and mail/electronic solicitations
-Attend monthly Development Team Meetings
-Attend weekly Development Meetings
-Serve as needed community public relations contact for Scott & Fayette Counties. This includes attending chamber events, civic groups, and other appropriate groups.
-Plan and implement fundraising and awareness events as assigned. This includes Red Kettle Kickoff, Annual Dinners, Volunteer appreciation, etc.
-Assist the Development Manager with social media and website updates.
-Assist the Development Manager with Special Events and promotions.
-Assist in volunteer recruitment, training, and onboarding.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience and/or strong interest in fundraising
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner
  • Ability to collaborate on complex social issues within families and communities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, social media, and fundraising software
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • A passion for The Salvation Army's mission
