Job description

Job Summary: You will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties:
  • Review and evaluate requests for estimates and project quotations, as needed.
  • Prepare the weekly bid calendar and ensure estimates are completed on time.
  • Prepare and review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create job folders.
  • Perform takeoffs from construction documents.
  • Review construction documents to understand the scope of work for bidding.
  • Obtain material pricing and subcontractor bids.
  • Develop estimates when predetermined standards are not available.
  • Notify the immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the estimating database.
  • Develop and maintain cost data.
  • Maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain resource information for products, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend branch meetings.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam construction software is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support timely, high-quality customer responsiveness.
