Blue Chip Tool, Inc. is expanding its machining capacity to support steady demand across both prototype and production CNC work. As a long-established, family-owned precision machine shop in Cincinnati, we are strengthening our lathe and milling departments to maintain delivery performance, quality standards, and customer growth.

This role is critical in ensuring we continue producing high-quality machined parts for a wide range of industries while maintaining the craftsmanship and reliability the company has been known for over 40+ years.

Blue Chip Tool, Inc. is a family-owned and operated machine shop founded over four decades ago and now run by second-generation ownership. We specialize in precision CNC milling and turning for prototypes, repair components, and small-to-medium production runs.

We serve a diverse customer base while maintaining a close-knit, skilled team culture focused on quality, consistency, and long-term relationships.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or vertical milling machines
  • Program, edit, and run CNC jobs at the machine as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and setups to meet tight tolerances
  • Machine parts to exact customer specifications
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspection
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM)
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Work in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment

What We’re Looking ForRequired:

  • 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience with CNC lathe and/or vertical milling machines
  • Ability to set up, operate, and program CNC machines
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Experience in high-mix / low-volume machining environments
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls
  • Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis machining
  • CAM experience (GibbsCAM or Fusion 360)
  • Strong understanding of G-code / M-code programming
