Job description

Duties Description Plan, develop, coordinate, and produce a broad range of multimedia services intended to communicate and support an agency's programs and initiatives. These services may include graphic design for the web, graphic design for print, graphic design for exhibits and displays, photographic services, script writing, storyboarding, copy editing, and production of audiovisual files (audiovisual recording and editing) for broadcast and the web. In addition, you might prepare and use digital files in printing, web design, broadcast, CD/DVD/Blu-ray, webcasts, and/or satellite feed.
• Assist Multimedia Production Program Specialist 2
• Provide graphic design and layouts using design software for digital and print media;
• Administrative Tasks
• Assist the Web Unit as needed, with Intranet and OSCtv applications, as well as photography and video at events;
• Manage Unit production logs for internal control purposes.

Non-Competitive Qualifications for appointment under the NYHELPS Program:
To be appointed to this position, you must have:
• Six years' experience in producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, or graphic design for web, or graphic design for print.
OR
• Bachelor's degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related field AND two years of experience as listed above.
Non-Competitive promotion (NCP) qualifications:
One year of competitive or non-competitive service as an Audiovisual Production Specialist, or Graphic Designer 1.
NCP notes:
If the number of interested candidates who meet the promotional qualifications is three or less, the agency; at its discretion, may nominate one or more of the candidates for a noncompetitive promotion without further examination under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law.
If the number of interested candidates who meet the promotional qualifications is more than three, the agency; at its discretion, may nominate one or more of the candidates for a provisional promotion under the provisions of Section 65 of the Civil Service Law.
