Job description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It's a unique legacy of innovation that's fueled by great technology-and amazing people! Today, we're tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what's never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world's best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you'll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

At NVIDIA, our events don't just introduce technology - they demonstrate it to the world. From global keynotes and product launches to arena-scale experiences, our teams create technically ambitious live productions for audiences in the room and around the world. We're looking for an Audio Visual Technical Director to lead the technical design and delivery of these experiences. This role combines deep AV expertise, technical leadership, and creative problem solving to turn ambitious ideas into production-ready solutions. Come help create some of NVIDIA's most visible live moments!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead technical design from concept through show execution, translating creative and production requirements into detailed technical plans, including venue drawings, rigging and LED layouts, signal flow, rack elevations, power plans, and production documentation using Vectorworks or comparable CAD tools.

  • Develop the AV architecture for sophisticated live productions, spanning LED, projection, audio, lighting, broadcast, networking, media servers, show control, and AV-over-IP for global keynotes, product launches, arena shows, broadcasts, and multi-room programs.

  • Lead technical planning with AV vendors, agencies, venues, and internal teams, defining system requirements, equipment specifications, labor plans, schedules, testing, and technical workflows while identifying risks and solutions before arriving onsite.

  • Oversee onsite technical execution, including system build, commissioning, signal validation, rehearsals, show operations, and strike. Diagnose issues across video, audio, networking, lighting, and routing, and step into technical operator roles when needed.

  • Own venue and production readiness, conducting site surveys and evaluating power, rigging, loading, networking, utilities, labor, and venue requirements. Direct union and non-union crews and coordinate crew calls, schedules, and technical responsibilities.

  • Manage the technical production ecosystem, reviewing vendor proposals and budgets, evaluating solutions against production requirements, and helping maintain NVIDIA-owned AV equipment through testing, troubleshooting, inventory, and safe deployment.

What We Need to See:

This role requires significant experience leading technical production for complex live events, broadcasts, touring productions, or similar environments. Strong technical judgment and the ability to communicate complex production requirements across technical and non-technical teams are essential.

  • 8+ years of relevant technical production experience, including leadership of large-scale or technically complex productions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks or comparable CAD software, including technical drawings, signal flows, system documentation, and production packages.

  • Deep knowledge of live production systems spanning LED, projection, audio, lighting, broadcast, media servers, networking, show control, and hybrid workflows. Experience with technologies such as SMPTE ST 2110, Dante, NDI, MADI, AVoIP, synchronization, and streaming protocols is valuable.

  • Hands-on experience with professional production platforms such as Pixera, Christie Spyder, Barco E2/S3, Blackmagic Design, Megapixel Helios, Brompton Tessera, ChamSys, or vMix, along with experience leading vendors, technical crews, budgets, labor plans, and onsite production.

  • The position includes domestic and international travel of up to 40%, with some production trips lasting up to 14 days. An active driver's license and the ability to frequently lift or move equipment weighing more than 40 pounds are required.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd:

  • Experience leading technical production for global technology keynotes, major product launches, arena productions, broadcasts, or other large-scale live experiences.

  • Additional experience with AI-enabled production workflows, or advanced training and certifications in AV, broadcast, networking, rigging, or production safety, is a plus.
