DESCRIPTION

  • 2nd shift - 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The Line Service Technician is a critical part of flight line operations for Business Jet Center. Line Service Techs are responsible for providing various services for aircraft, crew, passengers, and airport operations; such as aircraft fueling, towing, marshaling, and other ground support services, while upholding Business Jet's high standards of serviceability and safety in all aspects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide face-to-face customer service to aircraft pilots, passengers, and owners
  • Render aviation services including aircraft towing and refueling
  • Safely fuel aircraft according to company procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements
  • Lead arriving aircraft into position and send out departing aircraft while performing aircraft marshaling signals
  • Marshal, park, tow, and reposition aircraft on ramps and in hangars using proper handling procedures
  • Utilize and operate various ground support equipment such as fuel trucks, ground power units (GPUs), aircraft tugs, lavatory carts, and lifts
  • Provide other aircraft related services such as service order documentation, lavatory service, tire air service, aircraft ground maneuvering, customer relations, pilot transport, ground-to-ground and ground-to-air radio communications, aircraft traffic (marshal procedures), ground power unit service, aircraft windshield cleaning, aircraft amenities service and any other ramp and aircraft related services.
  • Provide baggage handling, vehicle valet and customer shuttle services
  • Use protective equipment and obey all safety procedures
  • Escort and assist in transportation needs
  • Remain watchful of arriving and departing aircraft
  • Work with CSRs and FLAs to aid and assist customers with arrivals, departures, and general customer service needs
  • Professionally correspond with customers and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain ramp, hangar, and work areas and equipment are clean and in professional and safe operating condition
  • Other duties as assigned as needed

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous aviation, fueling, ramp, or customer service experience not required but preferred
  • Experience performing aircraft marshaling signals a plus
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and efficiently in a fast paced, outdoor environment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to multitask and provide high standard of customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and develop and take feedback well
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts; including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary
  • Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and noise exposure
  • Safely operate service vehicles, fueling equipment, and ground support machinery

This position primarily works outdoors on airport ramps, hangars, and fueling areas with frequent exposure to moving aircraft, fuel systems, loud noise, varying weather conditions, and operational hazards. Strict adherence to PPE requirements and all safety procedures is mandatory.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to attain and maintain Love Field Badge and ramp access
  • Previous aviation or FBO experience not required but preferred
