Organization: Ayan Maternity Healthcare Support
Location: King County, WA
Employment Type: Contract
Compensation: This role is based on insurance reimbursements from Apple Health/Healthcare Support, with rates varying depending on the certification status of services rendered.
  • Certified services are reimbursed at a higher rate.
  • Uncertified services may receive partial or reduced reimbursement.

Overview:
Ayan Maternity Healthcare Support is seeking compassionate and culturally competent Birth Doulas to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant families, with a focus on underserved and immigrant communities. This role is central to our mission of empowering parents from pregnancy through early childhood.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide continuous support during labor and birth, including comfort measures and advocacy.
  • Educate families on birth options and help develop birth plans.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to ensure respectful, culturally appropriate care.
  • Offer prenatal visits and postpartum follow-up to assess well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program evaluation.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Birth Doula ( From WA DOH Approved agencies).
  • CPR certification (for infants and adults)
  • Experience working with diverse populations, especially immigrants and non-English speakers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Comfortable working independently on a laptop in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues related to laptop and software use.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to reproductive justice and birth equity.
