JOB DETAILS:
Reason for Coverage: Full time APP will be on 12 weeks of medical leave Practice Setting: Inpatient, daily rounding, new consults & admits
Average Number of Patients Per Day: 6-12
Documentation System/EMR: Epic
Trauma Level/Designation: Level 2 adult
APP will not be working autonomously Supervising Physician Present During Assignment: Trauma attending surgeon assigned to each 24 hour shift, typically take call from home, but available within 15 minutes or via phone call.
Required Procedures/Functions:
Suturing Minor Lacerations Responding to the ED for Trauma Alerts
Surgical Consultations
ER Admissions
Facilitating Discharges
House Codes - Rapid Response Team Completion of FAST exams at the bedside, reporting off to oncoming APP, general surgery coverage 5p-7a on weekdays and for full 24 hours on weekends.
Specialty Back-Up Available (If Needed) for Procedures Noted: emergency medicine, internal medicine, or critical care if needed on inpatient units. Multiple other subspecialties available. Patient Age Demographic: Treat/stabilize patients from birth to death. Approx. 5% ped, 35% adult, 60% geriatri

  • MUST state specific availability for listed dates at time of name clear - Required, no exceptions
