Job description

Birdsong is a two Michelin–starred restaurant in San Francisco (SoMa), where Chef Chris Bleidorn’s cooking explores heritage cuisine with heart, craft, and a deep sense of place.

Now we’re looking for dining room team members who care about the details and the people—not just the mechanics of service. If you’re warm, perceptive, and proud of creating a comfortable experience for every guest, we’d love to meet you.

Available positions

  • Captain

  • Server Assistant

The role

Warm, friendly hospitality is at the core of Birdsong. Our goal is to create a dining experience that feels welcoming and approachable, while still operating with the precision, pace, and professionalism of a Michelin-level dining room.

Whether you’re guiding a table as a Captain or supporting the flow as a Server Assistant, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in clear communication, strong timing, and making guests feel genuinely cared for.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 1–2+ years of fine dining experience (preferred) and strong service fundamentals

  • Pay attention to the entire room—pace, details, awareness, and follow-through

  • Value efficiency and can move with urgency in a high-standard environment

  • Bring warmth, confidence, and a calm presence to guests and teammates

  • Are eager to learn and willing to work hard—we’re open to training the right person, even without fine dining experience

  • Have full-time availability

What we value

Warmth without theatrics. Precision without stiffness.
A team that supports each other, communicates directly, and takes pride in getting better—every service.

Benefits

Birdsong provides comprehensive healthcare benefits, a 401(k) option, and dining discounts.

Application process

To apply, please send your resume and cover letter.
