Summary
Our team in Cary, NC is looking for an Electrical Department Manager with expertise in Laboratory and Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology engineering project design & delivery. If you're a seasoned leader in the field, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing, hiring, and developing the electrical design team
  • Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases, and overseeing the detailed design phases.
  • Providing Technical Guidance and Solutions to the electrical department, and clients
  • Mentoring and Training junior engineering staff
  • Assist in development of group systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management
  • Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations
  • Participate in presentations at industry conferences and writing of papers in publications. Identify and research future industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments
  • Develop, organize and control programmes to eliminate existing or potential electrical /engineering problems and deliver plant improvements
  • Provide technical backup to the operations teams in resolving complex electrical system problems
Skills & Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • 10+ years of relevant and successful experience in an environment with Laboratory, Biotechnology and pharmaceutical engineering facility design and construction
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated understanding of switchgear design, low, medium and high voltage, single line diagrams etc...
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Advanced time management and organisational skills
  • Leadership skills, managing people for project safety, quality and delivery
  • Participate in project engineering coordination activities
  • Results and customer oriented, communication skills, listening and working in a team
  • Microsoft Office including a proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Navisworks
